Competition Rules

Category 1

Solo Instrumental & Voice Performance

Open to solo performers on any instrument and solo vocalists of all voice types. Participants are placed in age groups to ensure fair competition.

Recording Requirements

• Video must be uploaded to YouTube or Bilibili and the link provided in the application form.
• The performer's face and hands (or face and instrument for vocalists) must be clearly visible throughout the entire performance.
• Recording must have been made within the last 18 months.
• No editing, cuts, or overdubbing is permitted in solo performance recordings.
• Accompaniment is permitted for vocal and some instrumental categories.

Judging Criteria

Category 2

Ensemble, Chorus & Band

Open to groups of two or more musicians performing together. Ensembles are classified by average age of all members. Virtual ensembles (members recorded separately and combined) are accepted provided video editing is transparent and disclosed.

Recording Requirements

• Video must be uploaded to YouTube or Bilibili and the link provided in the application.
• All ensemble members should be visible in the recording where possible.
• Sheet music / score may be used during the performance.
• Virtual ensembles (members recording individually, combined in post-production) are accepted. Please note this in your repertoire description.
• The ensemble name and size must be provided in the application form.

Judging Criteria

Category 3

Composition, Improvisation & Arrangement

Open to composers, improvisers, and arrangers. Participants submit a recording of their original work or arrangement. There is no minimum or maximum duration, however jury members will evaluate the first 10 minutes of any submission exceeding that length.

Note: Original Composition, Improvisation, and Arrangement are judged with different weightings to reflect the unique skills each demands.

Age Groups

Requirements

• A video recording submitted via YouTube or Bilibili is required for all subcategories.
• Submission of a music score (PDF) is encouraged but not required.
• For Improvisation, the video must capture the live improvisation in real time — no overdubbing.
• For Arrangement, please indicate the original work being arranged in the repertoire field.
• Works must be original and not previously submitted in other editions of this competition.
• AI-generated compositions or arrangements may not be submitted.

Judging Criteria

Category 4

Music Production, Song Cover & Remix

Open to music producers, cover artists, and remixers. Participants submit their work via a YouTube or Bilibili video. Jury members will evaluate the first 5 minutes of submissions exceeding that length.

Requirements

• Submit your work as a YouTube or Bilibili video link. Audio-only submissions are accepted if the audio is embedded in a static-image video.
• For Song Cover: you must be the primary performer. Include the original artist and song title in your repertoire description.
• For Remix / Mashup: include the source material credits in your description. You are responsible for ensuring you have any required permissions.
• For Music Production: the submission must be an original production. Provide a brief description of your process and tools used.
• All submissions must be the participant's own work. Submissions found to be plagiarized will be disqualified without refund.
